Ahead of this year's local authority elections in May, we will be bringing together up to six local councillor candidates or representatives from across the political spectrum and inviting them to tell us what practical steps they would take to improve the lives of the one million women and girls living in their area.
We are hosting events in Gateshead, Sunderland, Newcastle, South Tyneside and North Tyneside. They will all be chaired by former BBC politics journalist Jacqui Hodgson and we will be inviting women to ask the questions which are important to them ahead of the debates. These events are free, but please register for your ticket to attend:
Gateshead: Monday 13th April, 6.30pm-8pm at St Mary’s Heritage Centre
Sunderland: Tuesday 14th April, 6.30pm-8pm at Sunderland Minster
South Tyneside: Thursday 16th April, 6.30pm-8pm at WHIST, South Shields
North Tyneside: Monday 20th April, 6.30pm-8pm at Linskill Centre, North Shields
